Weldon G. "Beau" Nixon McAllen, Texas
Beau was born and raised in McAllen, Texas. He went to McAllen High School and upon graduation joined the United States Marine Corps. Beau served honorably on active duty in the Marines from 1997-2001. Among other awards, Beau is the recipient of Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, certificates of commendation, and was honored as his Battalion's Marine of the Quarter. After Beau's four year tour in the Marines, he graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas-Pan American with a Bachelors in Business Administration. Upon graduation, he pursued a law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law. While in law school, Beau served as a board member of the law school's student advocacy program, was a research assistant for two law professors, wrote for the Texas Bank Lawyer, and participated in an alternative dispute resolution clinic where he mediated disputes among citizens of Lubbock County. After Beau graduated from law school, he returned home to the Valley to begin his law practice. Since returning to the Valley, Beau's practice has focused primarily on general civil litigation matters, including commercial litigation, creditors' rights/collections, foreclosure, partnership disputes, bankruptcy, and personal injury. Beau is a member of the Hidalgo County and Cameron County Bar Associations, Hidalgo County Young Lawyers Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and the Texas Association of Bank Counsel. Beau is active in his community. He regularly performs pro bono work for citizens of the Rio Grande Valley, and is a youth baseball coach of a traveling team consisting of youth athletes from all around the Rio Grande Valley. Beau and his wife, Diane, have two children, Aaron and Haley.
